Phoenixville Hospital is a small community hospital located at 140 Nutt Rd, Phoenixville Pa. The Perioperative Services Department includes the Operating Room as well as Ambulatory Surgery Center- Limerick (located off sight), Endoscopy, Short Procedure, PACU, PAT and Sterile Processing. It is part of the Tower Health System which consists of 7 hospitals including Reading Hospital, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Phoenixville Hospital, Brandywine Hospital, Jennersville Hospital, Chestnut Hill Hospital and St. Christopher's.
The Operating Room at Phoenixville Hospital consists of 7 OR's and is staffed from 7am to 11pm, Monday through Friday, and 7a-7pm, Saturday and Sunday. Specialty surgeries include general , breast and robotics (we have 2 robots, an X and an XI), OB/GYN, urology, plastics and cosmetics, orthopedics including total joint, shoulder and hands, neurosurgery, vascular and endo-vascular procedures.
Responsibilities include scrubbing for all specialties discussed in above paragraph, maintaining proper aseptic technique and infection control measures, picking cases, and maintaining supplies. Position also includes taking call in the surgical tech rotation. Maintains standards of nursing care, while a member of the surgical team, under the supervision and direction of professional nurses and in accordance with approved policies, procedures and schedules.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology.
Demonstrates ability to work in demanding and stressful situations.
Two to three years of surgical technology experience in multiple specialties preferred.
Certification a plus.
Current Healthcare Provider CPR required.
