Synthetic Scene Generation Engineer to support research and development for the United States Air Force Research Lab. This position will be part of a team of scientists and engineers that provide simulated scenes and environments for hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Essential Job Functions:
Generate radiometrically accurate synthetic imagery for the evaluation of current systems and design future objective systems.
Execute the Fast Line-of-Sight Imagery for Target and Exhaust Signatures (FLITES) scene generation simulation or similar synthetic scene generation tools.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with 2 years of experience.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months of hire.
Software development experience using C/C++ or similar in both Windows and Linux environment.
Source control using Git or similar.
GPU /CUDA programming experience.
Video game engines: Unreal or Unity.
OpenCL, OpenGL, DirectX, or Vulkan.
Synthetic object modeling: Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Sketchup, etc.
Understanding of optical properties.
Special effects including particle systems.
Experience using high performance computing systems.
Existing DoD secret security clearance.
