Position: Cytogenetics Technician I
Location: Shelton, Connecticut
Schedule: Monday to Friday Day shift (Rotational Saturday/Weekends)

Follows all policies and procedures for the logging in, tracking, accessioning, and troubleshooting of specimens being received into the facility. Uses computer imaging system to karyotype metaphases. Uses Ameripath computer systems. Maintains equipment and monitors inventory. Uses safe procedures in regards to biohazard/chemical exposure and in the use of all equipment used in the processing task. Follows established department policies, procedures, objectives, Quality Assurance, Safety, and Infection Control activities. Recognizes and discusses any problems with the Supervisor. Documents all information pertinent to work assignments, to include all QA incidents. Keeps work area orderly, clean, and safe. Performs all other duties assigned.

B. WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Supervisors, Technologists, Managers, pathologists, other staff and client contacts
- Required: Associates degree or equivalent, BS preferred
- Required: One year of experience in related field.
- Desired: Two plus years of experience in related field
